Created For Good

"I think, therefore I am..." Rene Descartes.

Here is what I believe, my core hypothesis: We are created for a unique purpose and endowed with all we need within; we fulfill destiny at the speed of our most dominant thought.

Our DNA, our lives are uniquely curated, every element and backstory aligned for our eventual good. Some of us write so we don’t forget the lessons and experiences both exciting and mundane. We write about friends we would like to kill, strangers we’ve grown to love and about our families – our space to practice grace. We chronicle the pieces and moments in life’s mosaic. Our work is to guard our minds and sacred calling.

Being created presupposes a creator, though some might not agree. That’s the sliver of sovereignty in us – we get to choose and let free will distract us from our real purpose or propel us towards an inspired life.

The lyrics in “One Life to Love” by 33 Miles,  urges us to live each mile fully – “You only got one shot at this – one chance to find out the one thing, that you don’t want to miss.”
Are we focused or exhausted by a million trivial things? In the book Thrive, by Ariana Huffington, she recommends completing superficial projects by dropping them. Talk about liberation! Let’s get our bucket lists and brutally cross out the fluff.

“God long ago drew a circle in the sand exactly around the spot where you are standing right now. I was never not coming here. This was never not going to happen.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert (Her favorite Sufi Poem)

I’m glad things are changing. Back then, in Nigeria or Africa, kids didn’t typically grow up aspiring to write, so I have a practical MBA in Financial Management, but writing and reading have always been my default milieu for succor, pleasure, and how I express myself in the world. With my schedule over the years, producing content has not been consistent but my compulsive journaling; however, tells a different story.

The mind needs an outlet. While others turn to mindless TV, go party crazy or zone out with reefers, I write and play music.
On this blog you’ll find
clean and quiet writing – my goal is to communicate not impress. As Roger Rosenblatt says, “Every life contains every other life – a fact that’s complicated enough with overloading it with excess language.” And I agree!

                Ah! California…Gotta love the beach!

I revel in the give-and-take of collaborative forums of workshops, groups, and spaces like this blog where we can talk. I love words and their majesty. Their magic when ideas, stories, and thoughts released from our minds enliven blank pages and spaces. We have become creators, and there’s some good work everywhere we look.

We are in constant dialogue within, with life events, and each other. I write to keep track of the journey. My words pave the path, propelled by my most dominant thought – God created me for good works; all things work together for my good.

“There are no wrong turnings. Only paths we had not known we were meant to walk.” ― Guy Gavriel KayTigana

  2. I feel intensely all what you write. Words – really – are bricks, and yours are building a big, strong home where we can be together, think, share, and feel a Presence which is beyond our deepest thoughts, even beyond an egoistic “god”.
Thanks for your good and beautiful writings.
